POCUS

Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is increasingly popular. Advantages of bedside ultrasound are multiple and we believe its use in daily practice leads to faster diagnosis and safer patient care. In addition, ultrasound is not only a great diagnostic tool, but also very useful in teaching. Seeing dynamic images of organs, arteries and veins leads to better understanding of pathophysiology. This free website aims to help clinicians use POCUS in daily practice.

We are still working on the content of this website. We plan to upload more text and ultrasound images in the upcoming period.

Our aim

Our aim is to provide a wide range of health care providers with in-depth information regarding point-of-care ultrasound in its broadest form, discussing not only lung and heart ultrasound, but many other indications. Hopefully, this information helps physicians incorporate ultrasound in their daily practice and improve patient care.

This free web-based educational website on point-of-care ultrasound provides the reader with information regarding image acquisition, interpretation and indications, but also tips and tricks which come in handy when performing ultrasound. Protocols and standard operating procedures are available for download, so that they can be used all over the world.

We ask the readers for their feedback and to upload ultrasound protocols, standard operating procedures, but also interesting cases to further distribute knowledge on critical care ultrasound in the community.
